This New Mother Is Blind, But What Happened In The Delivery Room Changed Her FOREVER!

Nothing can compare to the moment a parent sees their newborn child for the very first time.

Up until now, I never even realized how greatly we take special moments like this one for granted. I can’t even imagine how it must feel for someone blind to not see the miracle they’ve created.

For legally blind woman and new mother Kathy Bietz, this was a harsh reality. The 29-year-old Ontario, Canada woman was diagnosed with Stargardt disease, a genetic eye disorder that causes gradual loss of vision, when she was only 11 years old. Although she has some peripheral vision, for most of Bietz’s life, she’s been literally in the dark.

There wasn’t much hope for Bietz, until her son Aksel was born and she was introduced to a life-altering device that changed everything. Wearing eSight glasses, which records video of the image in front of a person and magnifies it onto a high-definition screen, Beitz was able to see her newborn son — and her husband, too.

Through a new campaign centered on Beitz’s story, the eSight company is aiming to “Make Blindness History.” With nearly 285 million visually impaired people around the world, this little glimmer of hope is a great place to start.

This Homeless Man Fell Down. When You See Who Helps Him, Your Heart Will Break

This Homeless Man Fell Down. When You See Who Helps Him, Your Heart Will Break

What would you do if you saw a man on crutches fall down on the sidewalk? Now, what if that man was homeless? Would it change the way you react? This video set out to answer the question: Does appearance change the way people are treated?

This experiment resulted in some pretty surprising results. First, a “successful” business man falls down on the sidewalk. Many people rush to his aid and help him back up, which is wonderful to see. But what happens when a man dressed like a homeless man falls? Watch the video to find out. The results are much different, and I will say that everyone should have helped out the ‘homeless” man the same as they helped out the “successful” one.

What do you think of this experiment?

Box office report: 'American Sniper' wins again

Box office report: 'American Sniper' wins again

25/Jan/2015  //  278 Viewers

Last weekend, American Sniper stunned—and broke all kinds of January records—by bringing in $107.2 million. And its successful run continued this weekend: The Clint Eastwood-directed war movie earned $64.4 million (a mere 28 percent drop) and beat out the weekend’s three wide releases to stay at the top of the box office.

Sniper got tons of coverage in the press this past week thanks to its astounding opening weekend, something that surely drove viewers to theaters to see what the fuss is all about. That buzz combined with the film’s six Oscar nominations—announced the day before its Jan. 16 wide release—ensured a strong second weekend.

American Sniper‘s box office success is a telling example of how any press is good press: The film has been surrounded by a fair amount of controversy related to its political stance, and on a less serious note, was the subject of quite a bit of mockery after viewers pointed out a scene involving a fake baby that soon went viral. These factors didn’t seem to affect much in terms of ticket sales though, and if anything, they helped out the movie by increasing awareness of it.

Not everyone went to see American Sniper though. Newcomer The Boy Next Door, a thriller starring Jennifer Lopez, took the number two spot with $15 million, nearly quadrupling its reported $4 million production budget. That’s a big upgrade from Lopez’s most recent film before this, Parker. The $35 million thriller opened this same weekend two years ago with a weak $7 million.

Paddington once again proved to be a solid family-friendly choice for those who couldn’t—or didn’t want to—watch a thriller. The critically liked film (it currently has a 98 percent on Rotten Tomatoes) ended up in the number three spot with $12.4 million, beating out fellow family-friendly film Strange Magic, which opened wide this weekend with a comparatively weak $5.5 million. Paddington will likely continue to be the more successful PG-rated option thanks to positive word-of-mouth and the not-so-positive word-of-mouth surrounding Strange Magic, an animated film that currently has an 11 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Wedding Ringer and Taken 3—films in their second and third weeks, respectively–rounded out the top five, showing that just because a movie’s new doesn’t mean it’s going to make bank. Mortdecai, starring Johnny Depp, opened this weekend and just made it into the top 10 with $4.1 million, enough to put it in the number nine spot ahead of Into the Woods.

1. American Sniper — $64.4 million
2. The Boy Next Door – $15 million
3. Paddington – $12.4 million
4. The Wedding Ringer – $11.6 million
5. Taken 3 – $7.6 million

Outside the top five, Cake—the film that got Jennifer Aniston a recent Golden Globe nod—opened in 482 locations with $1 million. The new thriller Black Sea, starring Jude Law made $35,000 in five theaters while Song One, a drama starring Anne Hathaway, opened in 27 locations with $23,800.

Rihanna is at it Again…  She released a new song on her website, with absolutely no warning. As if being the first bit of new music from one of the world’s biggest pop stars wasn’t enough to get people to listen, “Four Five Seconds” features two of the biggest names in the industry: Kanye West and Paul McCartney.

The track is not only a shocker in the surprising manner in which she announced it—a tweet that simply said “FIRST GLIMPSE AT MY NEW MUSIC!!!”—but in its style. Musically, “Four Five Seconds” is a complete departure for both Rihanna and Kanye West though it does fit McCartney’s style.

Should we await an album? Kee your fingers crossed! Way to go RiRi!

Rita Dominic:  Rita Dominic’s  heavenly skin is  even more famous than her luscious lips, get-lost eyes and sweet voice and acting ability. Once asked the secret, she replies:”Bright skin?. I’ve always been called silky skin and you even used to call me that. I thank my parents for my skin. I’ve been using the same cream for years now. Four years ago, I added a few things to my beauty regimen.

What Rita knows:

According to dermatologists, we tend to focus on the cardiovascular benefits of physical activity, and those are important. But anything that promotes healthy circulation also helps keep your skin healthy and vibrant.

Going to the spa more frequently to detox, steam, get body scrubs and massages.

Links between massage and skin beauty has been controversial, at best; but at least it has worked for Rita, alongside body scrubs and other popular spa routines we are always to busy to get.

Drink about 13 glasses of water a day

Everyone has testified to this one. Water is skin’s best friend, dryness its worst enemy.

Stay away from the sun.

With all the location shoots and red carpets, can Rita really stay out of the sun? Well, she says she does by all means and you’d better believe her. Her skin says it’s true.

Kate Henshaw Nuttal:

She has not been able to live down the girl-next-door mien. Yet, Kate Henshaw Nuttal is now best known as the sexiest member of the 40s club in Nollywood thanks to her eternally youthful long, lithe body. Lately, she appears to have just realized the value of her legs and is using them to advantage.

What Kate knows:

Use the stairs

Ever seen Kate in her elements? She’s flying all over the place like a teenager. Call it joie de vive, whatever. Run up the stairs if you  must.

Use lotion, not creams

If possible, find lotions specifically for legs but whatever the case, use lotions, not creams, on the legs. Slather one layer, wait for five minutes, then slather another.

Never, ever shave

If you look closely- really, really closely- you will find hairs on Kate’s legs too. They never get noticeable because she never shaves them.

Ini Edo:

Ini is really hot and her curves and the proportional body are obviously God’s precious gift. She has given a dozen interviews yet Ini aint spilling about the secret of her body.

What Ini knows:

Mix Aerobics with weights

Personal trainers however attribute it to loads and loads of time at the gym doing a little aerobics as well as plenty of weights training. Caution: do not try this at home, weights training only works with expert supervision

Plenty of Water

Ini’s tight body is rippling with muscles, though you can’t see them under her glorious skin. Most people don’t know that training with weights is useless without loads and loads of water. Muscles cannot grow without it.

Diet rich in protein, calcium and iron

Train from now till Timbuktoo, but without proper nourishment, it is impossible to get Ini’s level of tone without a diet rich in fish, chicken, seafood and molluscs. The carbs just have to go.

Contestants vie for Miss Universe crown in Miami on Sunday

Contestants vie for Miss Universe crown in Miami on Sunday

25/Jan/2015  //  258 Viewers

MIAMI (AP) — A new Miss Universe will be crowned Sunday night in Miami, with participants from 88 countries taking part.

The contestants were narrowed to 15 during Wednesday's preliminary competition, but the results won't be announced until the live show, which airs at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.

"Today Show" personality Natalie Morales is hosting the show. And before Miss Universe, Gabriela Isler of Venezuela, crowns the next winner, viewers will hear a performance from singer Nick Jonas.

The women have been participating in events around Miami from a golf outing to a Zumba class in the past two weeks.

"All of the contestants are really beautiful souls and we've gotten to get to know each other during the 20 days and we've become great friends," said Miss Egypt Lara Debbane. "We're excited and we're going to support each other."

Miss Venezuela Migbelis Lynette Castellanos has tremendous support and pressure locally and back home. The Miami suburb of Doral, which is hosting the women during their stay, is also known as "Doralzuela" for its many Venezuelan residents. Three of the last six Miss Universe titles have gone to Venezuela, where beauty pageants are big business.

"I'm feeling good and I'm feeling this moment is mine," Castellano said.

Miss USA Nia Sanchez says she's looking forward to the often-dreaded interview portion. She's been running practice questions all week with her roommate Miss Australia Tegan Martin.

"Interview is the best place to connect with the judges. Miss Universe is not a runway model. I can look good onstage all I want but if I can't talk to somebody I'm not going to be a good Miss Universe," Sanchez said.

Miss Colombia Paulina Vega says "Every girl has different reasons why they are participating, but my reason, it's because it will be a dream come true to represent the woman of today. A woman that not only care about being beautiful and being glamorous, but also cares about being a professional, intelligent, hard-working person."
