4 individuals are still unaccounted for after an Alaskan charter boat sank, according to the Coast Guard.

Four individuals are still missing, and the Coast Guard called off its search for them late on Monday after a charter fishing boat sank off the coast of Alaska.

The Coast Guard said that rescuers discovered one dead person and the half submerged ship 10 miles from Sitka, Alaska.

Kingfisher Sanctions, a Sitka-based organization that works comprehensive fishing trips, detailed the missing vessel to the Coast Gatekeeper on Sunday night. The boat was conveying four travelers and one aide when it sank, as indicated by the Coast Gatekeeper.

Less than 10 miles from the little rocky island where the ship was discovered, the 30-foot aluminium ship was last spotted on Sunday afternoon close to Kruzof Island.

The Coast Guard Captain Darwin Jensen stated, “Despite our best efforts and those of many partner organisations, we were unable to discover the four remaining persons. It’s never an easy choice to halt a search. We offer the loved ones our sincere condolences during this trying period.
